Di kota Ambon, pada tanggal 16 Desember 1817 para tokoh pejuang Kapitan Pattimura, Anthony Rhebok, Philip Latumahina, dan Said Parintah akhirnya ditangkap dan mengakhiri pengabdiannya di tiang gantungan di depan Benteng Nieuw Victoria, Kota Ambon. Untuk tanda jasa serta pengorbanannya itu, Kapitan Pattimura dikukuhkan sebagai pahlawan.

Pattimura dibantu oleh beberapa pejuang lainnya antara lain, Anthony Rhebok, Thomas Pattiwael dan seorang pejuang putri Christina Martha Tiahahu.
